Elephantine Musings
An elephant sleeps standing up.
It's easy to see why.
What bed could hold this pachyderm?
A Serta wouldn't try.
What mattress best would fit a snoring
Four ton pachyderm?
Not even Tempur-Pedic
With its deluxe extra firm.
But if, perchance, this pachyderm,
This yawning elephant
Decides he wants your memory foam
Will you say, "Well, you can't!"?

Love it all--the poem and the jewelry.
ReplyDeleteVery clever! Enjoyed the references to the different types of mattresses! Now, in the spirit of fun...
ReplyDeleteAN ELEPHANT's LAMENT
An elephant sleeps standing up,
He does it without tryin'.
And yet they say the KING of beasts
Is just that lowly lion (sniff)!
The thunder, as his feet hit ground
(I'm sure you won't deny it),
Can scare the bravest thing around.
Cat, let's just see YOU try it!
His trumpeting can wake the dead
Far better than a roar!
To me that mangy 'kitty cat'
Is such a desert bore!
A pachyderm is big and strong,
Majestic always, he. The crown should sit upon HIS head
It's simply plain to see!
