There are three things I have learned never to discuss with people:

religion
politics
and the Great Pumpkin.

It's EHAG Emporium time, and what better time to look at pumpkins??

Spammity Spam, Spammity Spam

I refuse to put CAPTCHA on my blog.  CAPTCHA is that annoying array of letters and numbers which you must replicate to prove you're not a robot.  Apparently I am a robot because I can't decipher those things for the life of me.  Then, of course, you are offered the audio version... which sounds like the squealie noise my tires make on a slick underground garage floor.

I don't use CAPTCHA because 1) I don't believe in torturing my readers and 2) I love getting comments and no one is going to leave a comment when they have to decipher something like this:

Oh, I've been getting comments.  Lots and LOTS of comments.

Some of them, Google sends straight to the spam folder.  And some linger.  So I thought, why not use them in ways as inappropriate as the messages themselves. They always leave links to their websites, which I will not share with you here.

I get the most spam messages on my blog post about Schnauzers, where I wrote a silly poem.

It's hard to come by well-informed people in this particular topic, but you sound like you know what you're talking about! Тake а loоk at mу pagе :

or...

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. Useful link!

This, right after the last verse which reads:

If you want a dog who is frisky
And always stays out of your whiskey,
You might try a Schnauzer
'Cause he's no carouser
Unlike, say, a Basset, who's risky.

This next comment came after a blog post about A Week's Worth of Halloween Earrings:

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. My blog post latest celeb new..

This comment came after "A Pack of Penguins on a Nearly Worldess Wednesday," on a particularly spammy day:

Howdy, i read your blog from time to time and i own a similar one and i was just wondering if you get a lot of spam remarks? If so how do you stop it, any plugin or anything you can advise? I get so much lately it's driving me mad so any support is very much appreciated.

Complete with website link, of course.

This comment came with "Beltane: Fertility, Frolic, and Fire."

It is аpproρriate timе to make some plans foг the future and it is tіmе to be happy. I've read this post and if I could I desire to suggest you few interesting things or suggestions. Maybe you could write next articles referring to this article. I want to read more things about it! Check out my page...

This one arrived following ""Those With Webby Wings That Fold Up," which is a poem by Frank Jacobs, the poet laureat of MAD Magazine:

Рroduсing pizza is intеresting, not that verу hard, and a beautіfullу innoνаtiνе way to impreѕs аsѕocіatеs and lоveԁ οnes wіth your cοokіng knοwleԁgе - in addition mаke delicious fooԁs thаt will not sρlit the finances. Тake а loоk at mу pagе :

And here's a comment that accompanied "English Bull Terriers on an Atypically Wordless Wednesday. "

A fascinating discussion is worth comment. I do believe that you should publish more about this issue, it might not be a taboo subject but generally people do not talk about these topics.

This one was a response to "Blooming Saguaro Cactus on a Nearly Wordless Wednesday":

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She put the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to tell someone!  Feel free to surf to my homepage...

I was hoping we were on a roll, and the posts would continue to amuse, but alas, I was mistaken.

What better comment could there be for  A Kitty Piku for Pi Day?

I rarely comment, but after reading a few of the responses on this page "A Kitty Piku for Pi Day". I do have some questions for you if it's allright. Is it simply me or do a few of the comments come across like they are coming from brain dead individuals? :-P And, if you are posting on additional sites, I would like to keep up with everything new you have to post. Could you make a list of every one of all your social community sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile? Here is my webpage buy a bucket truck...

Here's someone with very exclusive content:

With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot of exclusive content I've either created myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my permission. Do you know any ways to help stop content from being ripped off? I'd really appreciate it. Feel free to surf to my page;

And finally a warm comment for My Mother's Chocolate Valentine:
