Buggy Thoughts

If you want to live and thrive, let the spider run alive.  ~American Quaker Saying

Nothing seems to please a fly so much as to be taken for a currant; and if it can be baked in a cake and palmed off on the unwary, it dies happy.  ~Mark Twain

We hope that, when the insects take over the world, they will remember with gratitude how we took them along on all our picnics.  ~Bill Vaughan

When the bee comes to your house, let her have beer; you may want to visit the bee's house some day.  ~Congo Proverb

The spider's touch, how exquisitely fine!
Feels at each thread, and lives along the line.
~Alexander Pope

Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?  ~Author Unknown

Cockroaches really put my "all creatures great and small" creed to the test.  ~Terri Guillemets

Some primal termite knocked on wood;
and tasted it, and found it good.
That is why your Cousin May
fell through the parlor floor today.
~Ogden Nash

The mosquito is the state bird of New Jersey.  ~Andy Warhol

Hurt no living thing:
Ladybird, nor butterfly,
Nor moth with dusty wing.
~Christina Georgina Rossetti

Luck be a Ladybug Tonight

Bug
by Bruce Lansky

In the window of the washroom
At our school yesterday,
A little bug was crawling

In its little buggy way.
I whispered in its tiny ear

To not make any noise;
because it was a ladybug
And the washroom is for boys.

Adopt some ladybugs on etsy. There are enough ladybugs on this to eat all the lampwork glass aphids in your garden, and then some!

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Super Ladybug!

Faster than a speeding banana slug (at 5 mph)...

Photobucket

More powerful than an aphid (of which it can eat 50 a day)...

Photobucket

Able to leap tall tulips in a single bound (as it beats its wings 85 times per second).

Look!

Up in the sky!

It's a bird. It's a plane.

It's Super LadyBug!

Yes, it's SuperLadybug ~  strange visitor from who was hibernating beneath your house.  She came to your garden with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal insects ~  the ability to use her feet to smell!  SuperLadybug, who can change the course of a citrus grove plagued with scale insects, and who, disguised in her little red and black suit, can eat over 5000 aphids a year.  She (who can also be a he)  fights the never ending battle for Truth, Justice and the Organic Gardening Way!

Beaded aphids sold separately.
