Is it Halloween yet? Is it Halloween yet?
Those who know me know I love Halloween. One of my favorite artisan groups is EHAG - Eclectic Halloween Artist group, and I am a proud member. This week we're launching the EHAG Emporium, where you can find all sorts of amazing Halloween art.
I am very excited to have a piece there for its grand opening: Halloween Garden.
It's the ultimate in Halloween bling. There are 7 Halloween charms of sterling silver that hang in a garden of artisan lampwork glass, pressed glass, and crystal charms:
a sterling silver ghost, floating gracefully beneath a black Swarovski crystal
a sterling silver 3D bat
a 3D sterling silver skull with a movable jaw
a 3D sterling witch's hat
an eensy weensy sterling spider dangling from a Swarovski crystal
a sterling disk with a witch on her broomstick, flying through a starry starry night
a sterling jack o' lantern
and each Cornerstoregoddess bracelet comes with a bead to protect you against the evil eye. This one is a lampwork glass eyeball, from Hoss of Beads.
It is a handmade one of a kind item. The bracelet is sterling silver and approximately 7" (18 cm) in length. It closes with a sterling toggle clasp. I can shorten or lengthen according to your needs, at no charge.
Each charm is wire-wrapped onto the sterling silver chain with sterling silver wire. All the charms are attached by sterling silver split rings.
A Cornerstoregoddess original. There is no other like it in the world.
And it's makes cool sounds on your wrist. Check it out!

A Bracelet to Benefit Haiti: The Spirit of Haiti
I made this bracelet to aid the Haitian rescue efforts. The entire purchase price ~ $100 ~ will go directly and immediately to Doctors Without Borders. First class shipping is free.
Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization working in more than 60 countries to assist people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe.
While normally I sell my works on such venues as eBay, etsy, and ArtFire, I wanted to make sure every cent went to this cause, and so I am putting it here, without any intermediaries. Please spread the word and share this post with your friends.
I based the bracelet on this painting, which I saw online.
In the bracelet, I tried to evoke the colors and sounds of Haiti. It is filled with flowers and leaves, birds and butterflies and dragonflies in beads of lampwork glass, pressed glass, fire polish crystals, and bead box treasures.
The beads are wire-wrapped onto the sterling silver chain with sterling silver wire.
The bracelet is approximately 7-1/2" (19 cm) long and closes with a silver-plated lobster clasp. I can shorten or lengthen the bracelet at no cost, should you need more or less length.
It is handmade by me, and is absolutely a one-of-a-kind piece. There is no other like it in the world.
If you would like to purchase it, send me an email at eburianmohr at earthlink dot net. I will send you an invoice. As soon as I receive your payment, I will make the donation to Doctors Without Borders. I will then ship you the bracelet, along with proof that your donation went to Doctors Without Borders.
Thank you for your help and support.

Had a Dog and His Name Was Yellow...?
For some reason, the old folk song "Had a Dog and His name Was Blue" kept running through my head as I made this bracelet. Clearly, the dogs on it are not blue. So I changed the words just a tad. Feel free to sing along.
Esmeralda, btw, is happy to be Miss Young Yellow.
Well, I had an old dog and his name was Yellow,
Had an old dog and his name was Yellow.
Had an old dog and his name was Yellow...
Betcha five dollars he's a real fine fellow...
"Here old Yellow,
Let’s get mellow."
Well, I shouldered my axe and I tooted my horn,
Went to find 'possum in the new-grown corn.
Old Yellow treed and I went to see,
Yellow had 'possum up a tall oak tree.
Mr. Possum joined us, he was nice and brown,
We had some sweet po-ta-toes, all a-round...
And to say "Come on here, old Yellow,
You can have some too, good fellow."
Now, Old Yellow died and he died so hard,
Made a big dent in my back-yard.
Dug his grave with a silver spade,
Lowered him down with a link of chain.
Ev-er-y link I did call his name...
Singing "Here…old...Yellow...
"Good dog and real fine fellow."
Now, when I get to heaven, when I first say ‘hello,’
When I get to heaven, once I first say ‘hello,’
When I get to heaven, once I first say ‘hello,’
Pull out my horn and start to bellow...
I'll say, “Come-on dog, come here Old Yellow"
‘Cause he’s a real fine fellow.
Esmeralda says the bracelet is not her size, but it's right here.

Money for Nothing and the Chicks for Free?
The other day I swung by the supermarket in beautiful downtown Burbank before I went to teach. I needed a few items and I can always count on this particular Von’s to be non-intrusive. The parking lot’s not awful. The customers keep to themselves. The staff is helpful if inept. First thing I see going in the door is this punked out chick with bright blue hair.
It was this color blue.
While this is a common sight in, say, my neighborhood, or just about every other neighborhood in Los Angeles, it is not so common in Burbank.
She would have looked good in one of my bracelets. Maybe this one.
So I steer around her and head up the aisle.
And there comes a little old lady – had to be 80 if she was a day – and her hair was all poofed up like she’d just had the set and style and it’s bright orange. Not Lucille Ball orange. Orange.
This orange.
My flamingo bracelet would have been a nice accessory.
I move on and next I encounter a little old man pushing his dog in the child seat of his shopping cart. The man’s 70-something, wearing a fishing hat, sans lures.
The dog is sitting on a little blanket wearing a little collar and it pretty much fits right there.
(This is not the actual dog in question, but a stand in for a cute small dog who would fit in the child seat of a shopping cart.)
I’m thinking... HUNH?! Isn’t that a violation of the health code? And why on earth is he pushing his dog around the supermarket?!
But life gets even better. Because the three of them converge at the end of an aisle. At which point Blue Hair and Orange Hair start to shriek and bill and coo about the dog. Isn’t he darling? Isn’t he the cutest thing? Oh look how adorable!
And at least then I understood why Fishing Hat was pushing his dog through the supermarket. To pick up chicks with brightly colored hair.
That was my lesson for the day. Or, as a friend used to say, "Count the day lost if you don't learn something."

Would you like to win a pair of snow angels?
(No. Not like that. Like this.)
Or... if you want, I can make you a snow angel necklace, instead. (Poof! You're a snow angel necklace.)(Just kidding.)
Here's all you have to do.
Watch the slide show.
Tell me the name of the two animals playing in the Pink Garden.
